West Herts Hockey Club - England Hockey Leadership Award

Leadership Award

West Herts and the England Hockey Leadership Award

As we are seeing robust growth in junior membership and the volume of fixtures we're playing, there's an ever increasing need for further support on the pitch in terms of coaching, umpiring and team management. For our young people, West Herts is not only looking to develop successful hockey players, but also well rounded individuals who can take the skills that they gain whilst at the club and can transfer them to other settings, in their personal and future professional lives. As a result, West Herts HC is committed to the development of all of its members and volunteers.

The Leadership Award

The England Hockey Leadership Award aims to provide a suite of leadership content and training for leaders aged 13 years or older.
It is aimed at those junior players who would like to learn more about the game and/or who may like to get involved in leadership roles at the club or in future.

Course Structure

The course will cover the following areas and has been adapted by us at West Herts to provide the most relevant experience possible:

There are also other reasons to take part:
The course is fun, informative and led by highly qualified and experienced club members.

It is an award that you can put on your CV.
The award is a good grounding for other qualifications such as coaching or umpiring.
