Dear West Herts Hockey Club Member,
The season is almost upon us! Pre-season matches have been in full swing and league matches in the East Region for our 5th and 6th teams start this Saturday.
Here are some important updates to make the season start as smoothly as possible:
Game Management System
England Hockey has moved all player registration for all leagues to one centralised location. This is a sizeable undertaking and is taking longer than expected, however, IF YOU WISH TO PLAY ANY FORM OF LEAGUE HOCKEY, YOU MUST REGISTER ON THE GAME MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

You must register via the Game Management Portal at https://gms.englandhockey.co.uk/
Once registered the Club can select you for fixtures. Any players in National League squads must also upload photo ID to their registration.
New Field Access and Changing
It has been a frustrating start to the season with disrupted access to the pavilion and the pitch. We would like to thank you for your patience. We have been informed that due to remedial building works to the changing rooms, we will not have access to the original changing rooms and shower facilities until Christmas.
We will have access to changing facilities for the first half of the season, in the temporary porta-cabins that are currently being installed. Toilet facilities will be available in a separate block, or upstairs in the pavilion. Unfortunately it does not look like these temporary changing rooms will be installed in time for the first weekend of the season.
We are in contact with Fullerian's to try and source changing facilities for all teams affected this week.
Squads and Availability
Please can members make sure that their availability is up to date on the Club Website? This year we will be fielding 6 women's teams and 7 men's teams on a weekly basis. As such we ask that players keep their availability up to date to enable captains to pick teams early in the week. Early selection allows players to know with more certainty where they will be playing and to plan their weekends accordingly.

A reminder that playing kit can be sourced from HawkinSport. If you are uncertain of your squad number, or would like on allocated or changed, then please contact us whhcbookings@gmail.com
