Dear West Herts Hockey Club Member,
Thank you to everyone who completed the Club survey about our return to play provision. We have had over 127 responses! As such we have been able to fully plan our summer provision as outlined below:
Training - Starting Tuesday 30th March - Thursday April 29th
Club training is to resume - in line with current England Hockey Level 4 Return to Play Guidance.
Members must book on to training via the booking link here. Training will be at the same times as before Christmas.
We know that hockey is safe and we were very good at minimising risks of infection whilst at training and on the pitch. Please be mindful of your off field behaviours when arriving at and leaving the New Field - as of 29th March the Rule of 6 is reinstated.
OMT Summer League - Start TBC
We have had a lot of demand for entering the OMT 11-a-side Summer League. We have entered 2 teams into each of the Men's and Women's competitions. There will be both a Men's and Women's development side, who play on a Monday, and a Men's and Women's performance team who will play their fixtures on Thursdays and Tuesday/Wednesdays respectively. More details will follow when we receive them from the organisers.
WHHC Centenary Sixes - Tuesday 4th May - Thursday 17th June
We have had to change the days for the Centenary Sixes tournament to avoid clashing with the OMT Summer League. A link to the Centenary Sixes minisite can be accessed here.
As such, the Men's Sixes will be on a Tuesday night and the Women's Sixes on a Thursday. Teams will be generated and published for all those who have shown interest.
WHHC Mixed Summer 7's - Thursday 24th June - Thursday 15th July
Mixed Sevens will take place on a Thursday night over 4-weeks from 24th June - 15th July. More details will follow in due course.
Junior Training - Monday 12th April and Sunday 18th April
Junior Training will recommence for U14 and above on Monday nights from 12th April. Sunday morning sessions will resume from Sunday 18th April. More details and a sign up form will be circulated from the Junior Section.
We would like to thank you all for your patience over the last few months and we look forward to welcoming you all back to the New Field. Whilst the majority of leagues have been cancelled, we think that we have a plan in place to allow members to access hockey and train and compete over the summer months.
We appreciate that it has been a long time since we were on the pitch, so we aim to rebuild hockey skills and fitness through April to enable us to compete and have fun in the summer competitions that we have lined up.
